Cultural orientation is where refugees learn the basics about lfe in America. Everything from emergency services, transportation, and school are covered so that refugees can begin to operate in American society. To look at the material we cover, just click this LINK.

When is Cultural Orientation?

Cultural orientation takes places at our office (801 Gilbert St. Durham, NC 27701) from 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm. There are three classes that arriving refugees are required to attend.

Who comes to Cultural Orientation?

These meetings are primarily for our refugees, however, we do have a number of people who stop by. This may include law enforcement, service agencies, and numerous others who help work with refugees to get adjusted. Also, this is a great way for volunteers to get a glimpse of what it is like working with refugees. If you would like to attend just send us an email at WRDVolunteer@wr.org.
